Hey there, nice to meet you!

I'm Fabian, your friendly neighbourhood writerman- I spent over a decade in corporate leadership before I quit to write down my stories full time.

To be fair, Mortrael was there long before the career was. I've been building this world (its empires, its magic, its very particular brand of characters who lose everything and somehow keep their sense of humor about it) for seventeen years now. For most of that time, it stayed exactly where good obsessions tend to stay: in notebooks, in my head, in conversations that made other people politely change the subject.

Then, with more encouragement from my wife than I deserved, I finally did the thing every stubborn hobby eventually demands: I quit the day job and started writing full-time.

Eldora's Slumber (the first novel set in Mortrael) is the result. It's a mythic, character-driven dark fantasy for readers who want to laugh, cry, and believe in magic again. To pput it in more simple words, I took the freedom to call this genre my own- and named it "Wonder Fantasy". If you've read T. Kingfisher, Travis Baldree, or Alix E. Harrow and thought "more of this, please" you're exactly who I had in mind.

This shop is the physical side of that world. The merch, the books, all of it comes out of the same seventeen years of worldbuilding, and all of it exists because a genuinely lovely community of readers on Discord and beyond decided this world was worth showing up for. When I'm not writing, I'm usually somewhere between an alchemy diagram and a spreadsheet, trying to figure out how to turn my magical ideas into something you can actually hold in your hands. So far, it's working out.
